Training
We have a thriving junior section at Cumberland and aim to make our junior training sessions fun and enjoyable, while at the same time improving netball skills including fitness and teamwork as well as their netball game. We always end our training sessions with some match play. Each team is led by a dedicated coach and overseen by our Head of Juniors.
All junior teams train at Camden Sports Pitch (see here for map).

Matches
We enter our juniors into the North London Junior Netball League and Essex Met Junior Netball League competitions. Outside of this, there are typically other tournament opportunities, and we can contact other clubs in the area to arrange friendly matches dependent on demand.
League matches take place on alternate Saturdays from September to April.
North London matches all take place at Broomfield Park courts (Palmers Green, London, N13 4RB).
Essex Met matches all take place at The Redbridge Sports Centre (Forest Road, Illford Essex, IG6 3HD.)
COMMITMENT POLICY
Due to the high interest in the club and limited number of spaces per squad, Cumberland Juniors have a commitment policy. We are a competitive club and to develop players and produce competitive teams we need all players to be equally committed to weekday training and Saturday match days.
Players taking up a place in a match playing squad must be available for weekend matches and weekly training sessions. there will of course be some occasions (illness, holiday) where this is not possible, but if three matches are missed consecutively your position in the team will be assessed and you may forfeit your place at Cumberland. We have a large waiting list for club places and want to ensure that all places in teams are being held by active players.
We hope you understand the intent behind this position and welcome your support.

Kit
The only compulsory kit is the dress that is worn during the league matches. There are many other clothing items that can be bought, have a look at our kit page for more information.
Please make sure that your daughter attends training session in appropriate sports clothes and sports trainers – this is to ensure the girls get the most out of the sessions and helps avoid injuries. Additionally, it is dangerous to play with any jewellery on so please ensure that these items (and items such as mobile phones) are left in bags or at home.
Girls will not be allowed to play with any jewellery on or with phones in pockets, therefore these items if present will be left at the side of the courts during the session at their own risk. We play on outside courts in all weathers except when there is ice on the ground, so please make sure that your daughter comes with appropriate layers / change of dry top / trousers for the journey home to ensure they keep warm. While we realise it can at times be quite cold, it is dangerous to play netball in scarves, so the girls will be asked to remove these at the start of the session, and all gloves and hats with ties must be removed after the warm up.
