Cumberland End of Season Awards
Cumberland host an annual End of Season Awards to celebrate both on and off the court, club, team and personal achievements throughout the season.
Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme
Cumberland Netball Club is part of the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme. This is a reward and recognition initiative that enables schools and youth organisations to celebrate the accomplishments of young people. Established in 1999, the Jack Petchey Foundation gives grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people aged 11-25. The Foundation exists to raise the aspirations of young people, to help them take advantage of opportunities and play a full part in society.
Cumberland are Bronze scheme members and receive 3 awards per calendar year. Players are nominated by one another, coaches and parents for going above and beyond, and achieving - perhaps where others thoughts they might fail. They could be nominated for an achievement at Cumberland or outside of netball. The winners are then selected by the committee and coaching team, based on the best nominations. The Jack Petchey Foundation provide a cash prize of £300 with the winner choosing how the money is spent within the club. Each winner is also presented with a certificate and pin badge at a club event. They also have the opportunity to attend a Jack Petchey Celebration Event where they are congratulated on stage in front of friends and family with a gold medallion.
