Cumberland A Team Match Report – Saturday 3rd May
Cumberland A team has secured its place in the quarter finals of the Challenge Cup Plate which will be played on the 1st June following a convincing performance against London rivals POLY A in round three of the competition. Having earlier beaten Tongham Tornados and Hillcrest who are three and two divisions above Cumberland respectively, Cumberland went into the third round knock out match anticipating a fast and competitive game
Cumberland A led from the first whistle opening a good lead in the first quarter through tight defence and an accurate shooting display. The fast paced game suited Cumberland and the team’s circle defence proved too strong for POLY with a lot of turnover balls in the defensive third. The team maintained their lead going into the second half, extending it in the final quarter to win 49-31.

8th June – Cumberland Netball Club will participate in the Race for Life on Hampstead Heath to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Charities
15th June – Semi Final of the Challenge Cup (N.B. only if Cumberland win on the 18th May in the Quarter final)
29th June – Final of the Challenge Cup (N.B. only if Cumberland win their quarter & semi final matches)

Cumberland B team are playing in the Middlesex play off’s this weekend at Brunel University to win a place in the Premier Division of Middlesex League next season.
