A Team Match Report - Saturday 12th Jan 08

Cumberland A squad faced a tough test on Saturday playing the only team they had lost to in the first half of the season.

The team were determined to beat their rivals, POLY A, and assert their position at the top of the league. After a close first quarter the team started to pull away, through good mid-court defence and pressure in the shooting circle forcing errors and creating turnover balls. The team kept focussed with their zone defence paying off frequently in the second half of the game.

Player of the match: Rebecca Squires, Goal Keeper.

The team play at home at Camden Sports Pitch this Saturday 19th January. The game starts at 9.45am and all local support is welcomed as they take on their close rivals in the POLY League – Academy.

The club is also looking to bolster its membership in 2008 with several positions in key teams opening up for the second half of the season. The club would be eager to hear from anyone wishing to play netball for the club. They are particularly looking for defence.
