A Team Match Report - Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th Nov 07

Cumberland A squad faced two tough matches this weekend with North London rivals Minchenden A in the premier division of the Middlesex league at Broomfield Park on Saturday and South London’s Comets A team in the POLY league at Camden Sport Ground on Sunday.

Cumberland A continued their league dominance however with two excellent victories. Saturday saw the top of the table clash with Minchenden A. Solid mid court play and the accurate shooting of Krista Pricott meant Cumberland steadily increased their advantage in the first half, before taking complete control in the second, claiming a win by 54 goals to 34.

Sunday saw another challenging opposition in the form of Comets A. In a match made more difficult by cold, blustery conditions, the girls ground out a hard fought victory. With only two goals separating the teams at half time, Cumberland put in a huge third quarter to extend the lead to 16 goals. Strong defence in the mid court and defensive circle ensured Comets could not recover and the match ended with another convincing win 48 - 33.
