current vacancies for 23/24 season
Cumberland is completely run by volunteers, and relies on the time, energy, and efforts of those volunteers in order to function. Without these volunteers, Cumberland simply cannot exist!
Please email Cumberlandnetball@gmail.com if any of the roles appeal to you.
Being part of the committee is a great way to get to know more members of our club and it allows you to give something back and make a difference!
Chair
The Chair’s role is to help guide the dedicated committee of volunteers to best support the club’s members, parents, and supporters. You’ve got to be a netball nerd and willing to keep learning about our beautiful sport. Practically you should be comfortable with different areas of the club, be a strong communicator, and happy to act as a rep for the club with leagues, other clubs, and the region. Strong leadership, diplomacy and problem solving skills are also desirable.
Head of Membership
As head of the membership team you will look after all membership queries for the club. We are looking to recruit someone into the role for next season, but are seeking volunteers now so we can ensure a decent handover period to help the new person get up to speed before out existing membership lead departs.
The role involves managing all affiliations for the club, which are a particular focus around August- October, when the club gets everyone registered for the new season. You will also need to help affiliate new players throughout the season.
You also provide overarching support for the wider membership team who look after league specific registrations.
In this role you will work closely with coaches, players and parents to ensure the smooth running of the affiliations and registrations processes.
If you have an eye for detail, and could help give back the club through leading this crucial function we would love to hear from you.
North London Netball League Registrations Lead
The NLNL registrations lead looks after registering all players to the league across adult and junior teams. This normally focuses on working closely with coaches and captains at the start of the season (around September/October time) and then ad hoc registrations across the rest of the season. You would work closely with the membership lead to make sure people are affiliated before registering them.
If you are organised and ready to take on a new responsibility for the club that doesn’t involve too much time commitment this is for you!
Essex Met League Registrations Lead
The Essex Met registrations lead looks after registering all players to the league across adult teams.
Social sec
Social sec is all about making Cumberland a fun club to be a part of – aside from playing netball! This role involves taking the lead on organising a minimum of three Cumberland wide-socials each year – Halloween, Christmas and the end season awards. However, more are encouraged!
If you are organised, imaginative, and have some experience organising (or just attending) events, we’d love to hear from you. It doesn’t involve much time commitment, just enthusiasm!
North London Netball League Umpire Secretary
This is a key role for Cumberland – without which we will not be able to play in the North London league. It involves organising and securing umpires for all teams that play in North London, and ensuring teams/coaches/the league are aware of who those umpires are. It also involves being the point of call contact for umpires on match days, and ensuring they know where and when they’re needed.
This role needs someone who is patient, logical and organised – and likes to problem solve!
